Meet Va Pen
Va Pen, a resilient 42-year-old from the Takeo province, Cambodia, shares her transformative journey through Fountain of Hope. As a devoted wife and mother of three sons, Va Pen sought education for herself and her children. Va Pen felt limited, having only completed the seventh grade. This changed when she began participating in the Life with Value programs through Fountain of Hope.
Through the Life with Value programs, Va Pen expanded her understanding of critical issues such as legal and illegal migration, human trafficking, substance abuse, and domestic violence. The lessons on the roles and responsibilities of parents resonated deeply with her, prompting a personal awakening. “I used to raise my children in an unhealthy way, always using violence, cursing, and shouting at my children,” Va Pen candidly recalls. Va Pen changed her parenting approach, resulting in improved relationships and academic performance among her children.
Va Pen’s story extends beyond her immediate family as she shared her growing knowledge with her extended family and community. She actively teaches positive parenting techniques to her cousins and newlywed nieces and nephews, fostering a ripple effect of change. Her FOH teacher noticed her dedication and passion and appointed Va Pen as a community volunteer. Inspired by her teacher’s communication skills and example, Va Pen embraced Christianity, participating in seminars for new believers and even taking additional classes through FOH.
Expressing profound gratitude, Va Pen states, “I thank God for saving me, both physically and spiritually.” She acknowledges the teacher’s role in equipping her with valuable knowledge that has enhanced her family life.
“I thank God for saving me, both physically and spiritually.”
Va Pen also requests prayers for her husband, hoping he will accept Jesus.
