Mut Sokha

A young person stands in a lush garden, wearing a gray T-shirt. Surrounding them is a leafy tree and a wooden fence. The scene feels serene and vibrant.

My name is Mut Sokha and I am eighteen years old. I had a life rooted in the fields of Phonhar Khleng, Cambodia - farming, survival, a family of eight. My schooling was cut short in the tenth grade – the reality for many like me. Yet, hope found me.

Fountain of Hope's Life of Hope program and the Joshua course, were a revelation. More than lessons, they were a spiritual awakening. The word of God, the lives of the staff – they touched my soul, leading me to embrace Jesus Christ. My life was forever changed.

The Joshua class wasn't just theory: it was transformation. Mediation, the harsh realities of domestic violence, drugs, alcohol – knowledge that ignited a fire within me. A fire to share, to empower, to lead.

Now, I'm a volunteer. I'm taking these vital lessons to my community, seeing lives shift, minds open. It's a privilege, a purpose.

The Joshua Training isn't just a program; it's a catalyst. It's building leaders, shaping futures. I pray it continues to flourish, to reach more young people like me, who yearn for a chance.

Join me in prayer. Pray for my health, for wisdom, for my parents to find faith. Pray for the strength and success of Fountain of Hope, for the safety of its dedicated staff.

May God's grace guide us all.

Lon Him

A woman in a black top and light pants stands in front of large handwritten papers with a map and text. She is outdoors, near palm trees, appearing focused.

My name is Lon Him. When I was 27, my life in Cambodia felt like a dead end. As a high-school dropout and a new mom, I was working an exhausting job packing pastries. My entire world revolved around the 25,000 riels—about $6 a day—I earned to support my little girl and our family. It was a constant grind.

I tried to find meaning in small things, like tending my garden or reading about health, but I always had this feeling that something big was missing from my life.

Everything changed when the team from Fountain of Hope came to our village. Their approach was holistic. They didn't only help us with practical ways to build food security, but they shared true hope. While teaching us how to stay healthy and spot the dangers of human trafficking, they also shared the source of that hope: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

That message was the lifeline I had been searching for.

Discovering God's love and grace gave me a sense of direction I'd never had. Suddenly, all the practical skills they were teaching us had a much deeper purpose. My life stopped being about just surviving. This faith didn't just change my circumstances—it changed me from the inside out.

So that's my focus now. I’m committed to keep learning and sharing everything I can. I want to be a source of real strength and a beacon of hope for everyone here in my village.

Din Na

A child in a blue jersey gathers firewood beside a rustic stove with a pot, in an environment suggesting warmth and resourcefulness.

My name is Din Na and I am 11 years old. For years, I was just 'that sick kid'. Always complaining, always feeling miserable. My stomach hurt, I was constantly sick, and honestly, I was a mess in every other way too. I ignored my family, spoke rudely, and didn't care about anything, including myself.

Then Fountain of Hope came into my life. It wasn't just lessons; it was like someone flipped a switch. They showed me how simple things – washing my hands, clean food – could change everything. Suddenly, the constant sickness disappeared. I felt strong, healthy.

But it wasn't just my body that changed. Fountain of Hope taught me about respect, about kindness, about being a good person through Jesus. I started listening to my parents, helping around the house, and even doing better in school! My family couldn't believe it. They were proud of me, and for the first time, I was proud of myself.

I am no longer just a 'sick kid'. I am Din Na, and I have a voice. I have a healthy body, a loving family, and a desire to share what I have learned. Fountain of Hope didn't just give me health; they gave me a new life. And I will never forget it.

Chhay Sothim

A group of people sit on the floor collaborating on a project. They are writing on a large sheet of paper while referring to open books, focused and engaged.

Yes, my name is Chhay Sothim, and I am 34 years old. I am the youngest of eleven siblings. I have a wife named Yon Yary, also 34, and we have three children. I enjoy reading the Bible and singing praises to God.

Before I knew Fountain of Hope, my life was not good. My family relationships were troubled. I didn't know God and lived a worldly life. But I thank God that He brought me to know Him through Fountain of Hope. I accepted Jesus Christ through their teachings.

I participated in three programs: Bible study, gardening and natural fertilizer, soap making, and health. The health lessons included positive parenting, the dangers of drugs and alcohol, domestic violence, healthy eating, hygiene, dengue fever, colds, migration, and human trafficking. The lesson that resonated with me the most was positive parenting, as it helped me guide my children better and plan for their future.

Our lives have improved since I met Fountain of Hope, and God has blessed my family. Moreover, God gave me the opportunity to participate in the Joshua course, which strengthened my faith.

I am truly grateful to Jesus Christ for bringing these wonderful programs to my family.

May God bless Fountain of Hope, its donors, with peace, joy, and abundant provision to help struggling communities.

Chhit Sokly

A woman in a blue shirt stands outdoors, smiling gently. Behind her is a corrugated metal fence and lush green plants, creating a serene atmosphere.

My name is Chhit Sokly. I am 51 years old and live in Takeo Province. I am a mother of two children.

Before joining Fountain of Hope (FOH), I was completely illiterate. I could not read or write, which made it very difficult to manage my small business selling fish and snails. I had to depend entirely on my husband and children to keep records and avoid losing money. Because of this, I often felt ashamed and limited.

When I first came to FOH, I heard the Gospel and came to believe in God. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Through discipleship training, weekly cell group gatherings, and the loving support of the FOH staff, my faith began to grow. I also built strong relationships within my cell group.

After completing Leadership Training, I was given the opportunity to join the 90-Day Joshua Training. Before the course began, the Bible trainers thoughtfully organized a special literacy class for students like me who could not read. The class was held one hour before each Joshua session.

At first, learning was very difficult. I felt overwhelmed and discouraged, thinking that I was too old to learn. But the Joshua volunteers in my cell group never gave up on me. They encouraged me again and again, reminding me that God has a plan for my life and that it was not too late to grow.

Because of their encouragement and God’s gentle call on my heart, I decided to continue. I worked harder than ever—practicing reading and writing at night, praying, and asking God to help me become literate so I could testify about His goodness and serve Him in my community.

Today, although I am not yet as fluent as those who have studied for many years, I can now read and write. Through the Joshua Training and FOH literacy classes, I have gained skills I never imagined possible at my age. I am deeply grateful to God for seeing my struggles and lifting me up.

People in my community have noticed the change in me. They are amazed that a woman who was once completely illiterate can now open a Bible, read it, and write her own notes. My journey has become a powerful testimony.

Now, I use my story to share the Gospel in my village. I encourage other women to connect with FOH, to learn, and to seek God’s help in their struggles. As a Joshua Leader Volunteer, I also encourage others not to give up, no matter their age or background.

My message is simple: Do not lose hope. We have a God who is always ready to help us. If you pray, work hard, and trust in Him, He will surely answer your prayers.

Today, I am serving God and living proof that it is never too late for Him to transform a life—spiritually, emotionally, and practically. Through FOH and the Joshua Training, God has turned my weakness into a story of transformation that now brings hope to others in my community.

Luhn Nan

My name is Luhn Nan, I'm 55 years old, and I live in Tbong Khmom Province. I live in poverty, and life was often difficult and hopeless. I had heard about Jesus, but I didn't understand Him. He seemed distant to me, a god from another culture.

On December 6th, the Fountain of Hope organization organized a Christmas celebration in our village. During that celebration, I heard a message that touched my heart. I heard about Jesus, the Son of God, who came to earth to save us from our sins. I learned that He is the only true God, the Savior of all people, regardless of their background or status.

That day, I decided to welcome Jesus into my life. Since then, there's been a deep peace in my heart. I no longer feel alone, because I know that Jesus is always with me. I'm so grateful to the Fountain of Hope organization. You not only gave me a Christmas celebration, but you gave me the greatest gift of all: faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
